Winter Vacation

Here are some pics from my recent long weekend in Minnesota. I visited with my good friend Lacey, learned how to snowboard from the master himself....and got to hang out with my wonderful brother and Jen and family. It was bitterly cold and a good reminder of what winter is actually like.

Sammy and the new pet

Ian bought me a new pet last week.....needless to say it is not a puppy. His name is 'Pinchers' and Sammy not suprisingly doesn't like him. We have had a lot of fun with him regardless.

Of note, we had our first official Maryland snow......totaling 1.1 inches. This vicious snow storm included school closings and a winter storm advisory. I did traverse during it from work to home and just laughed the whole way. It is crazy how people out here treat a snow storm.....you would think we live in Georgia. It is just humorous if nothing else.

This one's for Grandma

Since Grandma learned how to blog....I thought I would be nice and put this picture up for her and the rest of the family.....and I would also like to add a life lesson that I learned the hard way today. If you are going to go to the store, don't leave the red cabbage on low on the stove (the deathly awful heat from hell stove) and expect your husband working on the car to smell it when it starts to burn. I probably have about 2 inches of burned red cabbage on the bottom of my lovely dutch oven right now... Pray for a miracle that I get it clean! :)
