9 mo. check up

We went to Lucy's doctor last week and had her 9 mo. check up. She passed with flying colors! Stats are:
21lbs. 2oz. (90th percentile) 29in. (90th percentile). I was figuring she'd be off the growth chart by now, glad she's slowed down a bit, maybe that means her clothes will fit for more than 6 weeks now, that'd be nice! Currently she's wearing 18mo. size and has all but grown out of 12 mo.! The doc was very pleased with her development and not concerned about her not crawling. Just since last week she has seemed more interested in moving, so I think she's actually on her way to crawling (hopefully!).

The only concern from the visit was another potential allergy that I need to discover. Lucy has these patches of dry skin on her legs that flare up every once in awhile, its not eczema, but just feels like sandpaper. I just thought it was dry skin but the doctor said its a sign of a food allergy, so I have some more detective work to do. So far we know for certain dairy, soy and chocolate. We are still avoiding grains for the first year as those are hardest to digest and wheat is one of the top allergens. She might be allergic to the wheat in my diet, so I might have to experiment with that. I have been eating a lot of yummy homemade bread lately, so that could be it.

Right now the poor baby has caught what I've had for the past week and has a fever and stuffy nose, I feel so bad! She had a rough night last night, was up every couple hours and had a hard time getting back to sleep. I'm letting her fever go and kill all the bugs in her system, so hopefully she will be up and running tomorrow or very shortly. Although from the video, you wouldn't think she's sick at all (it was taken last night).

Just this past week like I said she's been looking more interested in moving, reaching for toys, falling over, not crying when we put her on her tummy......she's also started babbling a ton more, and here I thought she was shy! Her stranger danger is getting better too, my wonderful neighbors watched her on Sunday while I wasn't feeling well and she did great! She is becoming super curious (although she has been all along) and loves to stare people down. We are enjoying every minute of watching her grow and change!
